The purpose of the conference was to review different
concepts of lifelong learning in the higher education sector
and find their common ground, exchange good practices in the
organisation and practical implementation of lifelong
learning, identify points where lifelong learning links with
and integrates into national qualifications frameworks, and
finally, to take a look at different methods of providing
transparency and quality of lifelong learning in higher
education.
The conference was attended by the representatives of EU
Member States, the countries of the Western Balkans and the
ministries responsible for higher education, as well as
experts from higher education institutions. The invited
guests included representatives of the European Commission,
as well as the EUCEN, EUA, ESU, ETUC and the OECD.
